I remember discussing faiths and christianity with one of my fren last yr. (ok not discussing but a gentle quarrelling) If it wasn't after i read "dA vINci code" I would probably forgotten abt tt accident.
Its quite amazing how human beings believed in faiths and religions. Before i ever read that novel, I've already questioned myself numerous time (as usual I was too bored at tt moment). Why do human beings believe in man-made beliefs? Does all those gods really exist? Does the story of Sun Wukong & the Journey to West really occurred in the past? If gods really exist, why must they segregate themselves into so many religions? If they all exist, won't the heaven be too crowded with them and the angels and ghosts and wateva? (i guess recarnation answer that question, but only buddhists believe that isn't it?) If human beings know that they are all gods, why do they believe in one and not the other? and the doubts go on and on...
One must tink that I'm a free-tinker. Nope! I'm a believer of Buddha and I admit when I had all those doubts, I'm kinda guilty of having those doubts at the same time and I will try to apologise to the gods in my heart for questioning their existence. But nvrtheless, the questions stil remain unanswered.
and after reading da vinci code, I was thinking those christians and catholics, don't they and won't they start questioning the truth behind wat they've always believed also? but i guess the majority will close one eye to the doubts open in front of them. Well i guess like I too question the story that buddha were born in lotus flowers, as long as the faiths and religions give us a sense of belonging and peacefulness, no harm in believing our religions (even if they might be just fiction :-p ).
p.s. I'm not trying to say anything bad abt any religions here, just writing down my thoughts after reading the bk. I've dozens of close frens ard me who are also christians or catholics so my frens don't bomb me k? lolz
